28 Mar Kid Friendly Shelf-Stable Snacks!
In an effort to stay home as much as possible and to minimize the number of grocery runs I have to do- I have stocked up on a good number of shelf-stable snacks. Since we are home ALL day every day – having snacks on hand is super important. Snacks are a necessity for my kids in between meals and during homeschooling breaks, I’m sure it’s the same for you if you are on the same boat. If you are looking for some snack ideas for the family below are a few of my kid’s fave portable snacks.
Applesauce/dried fruit. Right now we are loving dried apricots, they are deliciously sweet and velvety soft – plus 1/4 cup of dried apricots fill you up 3 grams of fibre.
Low Sodium Triscuits. This version of the classic cracker is lower in sodium than the original and they contain very straight forward simple ingredients. Plus, they taste so good!
Snapea Crisps. These crispy pea snacks are crunchy and savoury. They are also high in both protein and fiber.
Nuts/Seeds. Cashews are a family fave that makes for a filling snack that is great on its own. Sesame snaps have a sweet crunch and provide 4 grams of fibre per serving.
Graham Crackers/MadeGood baked treats. These cookies are made from simple ingredients and low sugar.
Mini Kind Bars. These delicious bars are the perfect size for kids plus they are low in sugar with a good dose of protein and fibre.
Thin Addictives. These cookies are enjoyed by the kids when they go to their grandparents so I made sure to have some at home too. These cookies have the perfect crunch and they have a subtle sweetness from nuts and dried fruit and contain simple ingredients. Plus in one serving there are 3 grams of protein.
